DISHA is working with 1800 underprivileged children i.e. working children and children of commercial sex workers in the age group of 4-14 years especially girl children out of school, school drop outs living in nine slum clusters of Mayapuri and Naraina Industrial area in west Delhi over a period of three years. DISHA is conducting bridge classes for these and mainstreaming them in the formal schools.

  The goal of the project is to ensure quality primary education for underprivileged children to increase enrolment, attendance, retention and learning in the formal primary school system with the active participation of the community towards achieving the national education goal of compulsory primary education to all children up to the age of fourteen year through community participation.
